Based in New York, the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB) is an American Personnel Certification Body. Its activities are to design, develop, and deliver personnel certification services for various industries.
As opposed to other personnel certification bodies, and in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17024 standard, PECB does not certify training courses, only examinations.
The goal of personnel certifications is to provide evidence that the certificated person holds the minimal competencies required for the specific certified credentials.

PECB provides three major services:
The Professional Evaluation and Certification Board offer several training courses that helps applicants prepare for the PECB certification exams. These courses are not compulsory for individuals to apply for PECB's certification exams.
Applicants can challenge the following PECB examinations:
PECB offers to individuals who have successfully passed a PECB examination and have the required relevant professional experience the opportunity to apply for a professional certification. These personnel certifications are the same as the certified examinations. PECB's website indicate that these certification schemes are in the process of being accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
PECB is the only personnel certification body that is certified to ISO 9001 (ANAB) and ISO 27001 (UKAS).
